The new streptococcus B Ag test is a screening
test for use in the detection of streptococcus B
in vaginal fluid specimens. Group B streptococci
(GBS) or streptococcus agalactiae are among
the most frequent causes of life-threatening
infectious in neonates. As standard methods
require 24 to 48 hours incubation, reliable
rapid tests are an utmost convenient
alternative for diagnosis for the POC use.
An absolute specificity and a sensitivity of
1.0x105 micro-organisms characterize this
special test.

specific antibodies the presence of trichomonas in only 10 to
20 minutes. The test has been validated by external studies
and found to have a sensitivity of
over 96.5% and specificity of over
95.6% when compared with
reference methods for
microbes identification such
as BD Affirm, USA; the relative
specificity is 97.3% when compared
to the traditional microbiology.
The vaginitis due to trichomonas vaginalis
represents approx 5-10% of vaginal infections and 50% of
infected woman is asymptomatic.
